Nicole’s 2024 Capo State titles 🔥 smashing first 🥇 in her weight class 💪🏻

We asked Nicole a few questions regarding her competition, check out Nicole’s answers, we are excited to see her continue her journey

How did you place and what did you lift in each category?

I got 8/9 successful lifts
Squat
🟢 135kg
🟢 150kg
🟢 170kg
Bench
🟢 75kg
🔴 85kg - got it up but missed the cues
🟢 85kg
Deadlift
🟢 150kg
🟢 170kg
🟢 182.5kg

For a whopping total of 437.5kg! Amazing for a first comp.

What did you find the hardest prepping for the competition?
Balancing work, my son and training but also trying to stay sane with a social life.

How did you feel the day of the competition?
I felt sick, my anxiety levels were high and it took until my first lift to settle in and get in the zone.
The second they called bar is loaded and I stepped on the platform I was ready for it.

Looking back at the experience, what was the most enjoyable about the Competition?
The atmosphere and meeting some absolute weapons! Words can not describe the atmosphere of the place, the thrill and adrenalin of spectators and fellow lifters screaming at you to succeed.

If you could give yourself a piece of advice restarting your journey, what would it be?
ENJOY THE PROCESS. And TRUST IT. I went Into my lifts not knowing what my kg attempts were - I didn’t look and I didn’t listen, I just lifted what my coach told me to so I couldn’t get Into my head about it.
You’re always stronger than you think.

What is the plan from here?
Wait for the debrief with my Coach and set new targets, new goals and smash it.

🤞 I did enough for a first round Nationals invite when they get sent out in a couple months.

We want to wish Snap Whyalla member Nicole good luck in Adelaide with her first power lifting comp this weekend. 🏋️‍♀️

We ask Nicole a few questions about the comp, check out her answers 💪🏻🔥

What competition are you entering?
CAPO Power Lifting State Titles

What were the categories?
Squat, Bench, Deadlift

Is this your first comp and are you nervous?
Yep first one, slightly nervous as I have decided to skip Novice and jump straight to a Sanctioned event. Thrown myself in the deep end slightly but I’ve been working with a Coach for months and we believe we are ready! More nervous of getting the commands and timing right to get all 3 white lights from the Refs!

There would have been up and down days for training and motivation, what helped you get through?
Spite. 🤣 Being doubted and talked down on by others fueled me to get a coach and prove people wrong.
Oh and Caffiene and a coach who pulls me inline.

We have massive plans in the future, we just need to get the first comp nerves over and done with, then the real work starts.

Client Testimonials

My experience working with PT Ford:

If you’re anything like me your hamstrings and hips are tight AF from sitting down too much and not stretching enough.

I did a stretching session with Ford which was sensational!

Recovery is often a part of training I don’t enjoy and neglect. With Ford’s help I was able to get my hamstrings and hips feeling HEAPS better within 30 minutes!

Highly recommend reaching out to Ford if recovery/stretching is one of your weaknesses.

Daniel Marshall

Working with Ford is fantastic!  He is very easy to get along with & has made me feel comfortable in the gym – an environment I’ve avoided my entire life.

His knowledge is enormous and is reflected in his professional yet easy going persona.

If you’re thinking about reaching out to Ford to help you on your fitness journey, just do it, stop thinking about it!

Tim Gilbert

I have worked with Ford for just over a year, I’m a mother of 2 Boys with a shift working husband.

Ford has helped me gain my confidence and change my life style to achieve my goals. Working with Ford I have lost 15kg+ and I feel like I haven’t had to change much in my life.

Losing the weight and gaining the skills I have, my mindset has changed, I am happier and have become a better version of myself

I am able to live life, treat myself and still enjoy things without restricting myself. I would highly recommend chatting with Ford to see how he can help you balance your lifestyle.
